Mini-Adventure Episode 2 - Running Around Providence

Time for another mini-adventure (podcast). This one features a run I took while on a business trip to Providence, RI the week of April 13th. The weather was sunny and cool.

Although direction and hill challenged, I managed 5 miles.

Music is, once again, Michael Mucklow’s Pipe’s Canyon Sunset. I have decided that the mini-adventures will only be 6 and a half minutes long with this song in the background.

Enjoy!!

Running in Dayton, Ohio

Although I didn't end my running week well, I did get a chance to take a run while in Dayton, OH. And, though we didn't get a chance to run together, I did get to have breakfast with the one and only Kevin! When had a great visit together - it was like catching up with an old friend. Hopefully we will get a chance to meet again when he comes through Florida later this year.

The area around my hotel was not very conducive to running so I drove to a local park and took a run there. Here is a brief video report of my run in one of Dayton's Metro Parks.

I haven't run as much as I had hoped since my return from Dayton. A short run with my husband (his first since the marathon) on Thursday. Friday we went out (with the kids and some of their friends and their parents to see Indiana Jones), and today I managed to get a bit too much sun to wear my running bra comfortably...so I am hoping I will feel better tomorrow for my 10 miler.

Run strong everyone!!

Introducing my Little Sister - Tammy the Runner

My sister Tammy has been following my blog and comments every now and then - but off line she and I have been talking about her getting back into running. Unlike yours truly (who never really seriously ran until age 39), Tammy ran track in HS. I encouraged her to (re)start up running and to start a blog so she could keep track of her progress and benefit from a kind community of folks who can relate to where she is and encourage her along the way.

Her blog is called On My Way. If you have a moment, pop on over and give her a word of encouragement. She and I are talking about doing a half marathon together this fall on the road to her first marathon!

Welcome, Tammy, to the running blogosphere!!

I'm Going to San Antonio

Today I signed up for the Inaugural San Antonio Rock n Roll Marathon. I have a good friend who is running her first marathon here, and it just so happened that I have a business trip to Austin that same week.

So I have found my fall marathon :-)

I am pretty excited! Shirley says this should be ok for a training run for Goofy. Should be much more fun than 22 miles in Oviedo! :-)
