Week 6 & 7: Trying to Survive

A quick note to let you know I am still out here, and just trying to survive. I have stopped beating myself up for not keeping with my training plan since my work schedule now has me 60-70+ hrs/week the last couple of weeks. I am now just proud I am slipping in a run here and there. The weight training is out, but I am getting my interval and tempo runs in.

Week 6: Only 14 miles for the entire week - with my long run cut short due to darkness! Ran the 5.15 miles at a pace just under 11 min/mile with no walking breaks.
Week 7: My current week - got my tempo run in tonight. In spite of some lack of sleep, I managed just over 5 miles at a 10:26 min/mi pace. I am pretty happy with that. Next run maybe Thurs, maybe Fri. Next couple of work days promise to be crazy.

I am going to upload a short Running "Mini-Adventure". The anniversary 14th episode is still in the works, but I ran out of time again this week to produce it.

Hope everyone's training is going well. If my work schedule is not crazy enough, I went and signed up for that 10K anyway! If I can get the proper rest I still may have a 10K PR in me. I just need to maintain a 10:15 min/mi pace - I am just about there!

Glad to read that you're still hanging in there.

I know that when work gets crazy it's hard to fit runs in. But I'm glad that you're making it happen when you can.

I'm looking forward to that 10k!

You'll make that PR, my friend! Congrats on managing it all. That takes talent!

Hi Chris, good to hear from you! I figured you were super busy at work. Just do what you can. With enough rest and cool weather, I think that PR is in you.

You're doing so well just to get out there at all Chris - hang in there. And I love that you're not beating yourself up either - you're doing what you can and your attitude is great. Good luck in that 10K!
